I'm trying to help a buddy of mine. He recently purchased his first car back. :)
He bought this 39 Pontiac when he was 18 in the early 60's it was stock when he got it from an older lady. Sold it around 65 to a local guy with an Olds motor and hydro tranny. This guys built the car and finished it in 74 and has had it ever since. A couple of months ago he approached my buddy and asked if he'd like to buy his car back. Well he did!!!!! :D

Here's his question. The car has the original steering, he wants to put a tilt column. He will have to cut the tube that the goes from the steering box to the steering wheel. Is there anything he might run into when he cuts the tube? He wants to cut the shaft to length and connect the column to the existing shaft.

Thanks in advance for any help.
