hey. I have a 41 ford pickup frame that i just got all painted, i got the axle and all the front end stuff all painted all nice... i put the front end together and realized that the kingpin cross pins were tapered. And the spindle stop is at the end of the cross pin. I really don't wanna take it apart just yet.
My Question is does it matter which way the cross pins/steering stops face? whether the stop faces the front or the stop faces the back?

any help would be well appreciated thanks

As long as the spindle hits the stop before the tire rubs anything you should be okay. I installed the stop nuts on the rear side of the axle on my roadster.
