I was wondering if any one knew the stock torque tube length of a 32 5w coupe? Any help is appreciated. Thanks rich
Junior, are you using a 32 rearend or a later one? Not sure a stock '32 length is what you need. Aren't the front flanges on the later banjos longer, as in closer to the front of the car? So you might need a TT that's shorter than a stock '32.
yes im using a 40 ford columbia... i did a little research and it looks like a need my 37 torque tube to be 52 7/8...
thanks dick i mine aswell run something by you guys, when i took my 37-41 torque tube apart i found it had a 35-36 style tube type torque tube... i word really like to say its original it was all the same color and appeared to be untouched...
I am assuming you mean you had a 35/6 style tapered tubular drive shaft, 10 spline coupler. this would be probably from a 1937 , later 37, 38-48 have solid drive shafts, 6 spline. If you are installing a columbia the snout face on the banjo case is longer in dimension than the pinion snout face on the round B style or scalloped 32-4 style banjos. You cannot just bolt the 32 stock torque tube up as it will push the rear axle center line rearward.
