The hood on my Chevy lifts up when driving over 50mph. Im am wondering if it is the hood hinges that are bent or worn out. I did have the hood fly up on me a while ago on a test drive and I'm wondering if it bent the hinges. I have replaced the old springs with new ones and still have to push down the rear corners of the hood to get it to sit right. Anybody got any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks Jeff

I know for my Tbird it means the Hinge "Pins" are worn and you need to replace the whole Hinge.

Since you had it "fly open" on you once, you probably tweeked the Hinges enough to bend them.
You replaced the Old springs with new,so if the Hinges were damaged, you're just compounding the problem...

I say, replace the both sides and then see if that fixes the problem.

Just think how nice they'd look too!

  4. Try to adjust the hinges at the cowl.....
