I blew up the Engine in my Roadster a couple of years ago, on my way to the HAMB Drags. Racefab built me a new one that's much nicer than the 2 Engines this car had before. ( a McCulloch Blown 283 Vette, and a unblown 327 ). This new one is also a 327, built to be a Blown Street Motor, and I had the McCulloch rebuilt again as well. Getting this Car back on the Road has taken me way too long. I got distracted by doing things like a Engine Swap on my Truck ( 351W to 327SBC), starting a Road Race inspired '70s Car, building another one for the Street/Strip, doing repairs on my Wife's Falcon, etc... But its running and moving under its own power again. It felt great to let the Clutch out, for the first time after such a long wait...
I still need to get a new belt for the Blower ( the one I have is too short, because I'm running different size pulley's now ) And I want to make some changes to the rear suspension...
awesome, im pretty sure i saw this car somewhere , but i do like it and its nice to have an old friend back.
I think Im in heaven........ My Anglia is running and your roadster is running too.... Look out Tucson. Congrats Alex.... Finally the coolest car in Tucson is on the road again......and yours is too....... J/K See ya soon ENFO
Your name must mean you built the roof from scratch? Good looking ride. I dig the brick too! <!-- / message --><!-- sig --> Alex is a badass when it comes to metal work..... every inch of that car has been massaged by him....... ENFO
The Brick is multi-functional. E-brake & cruise control... Here is the Thread I did when I made the Hard Top. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11722
I ran across a picture I had saved of that car 3-4 years ago. I was wondering whose it was and what happened to it, good to see it out.
whether we see eye-to-eye or not, I've always liked that car since I first saw it at the Hamb drags...
Just went back and read your tech post on that top. Absolutely amazing work! The lines really work with the rest of the body.
I remember the first time I saw your car, at JimC's hamburger cookout at his house, before the HAMB drags in '04. Awesome car. Glad to see it back with the McCullough. Look forward to seeing it in August, except this time I want a ride!!!!!
Soon there will be more roadster fun......... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5442089849716139270&q=metalshapes
You need a custom brick!! That one look late model I got a truck full but the cost a mail would kill me!
You need a custom brick!! That one look late model I got a truck full but the cost a mail would kill me! These are the klinkers for our new fireplace!!
Are you saying Alex is tall? Cool cars Alex, but you know that! I love the pic of your house as well as the others. Late 50's, early 60's neighborhoods, especially in the SW are incredible.
Why does everybody want to race me?? And Yeah, Bluto is right. Its a latemodel brick, I should really get a more Traditional one.. Thanks again guys.
Problem no1 is; You are meant to blow them up AT the drags. Its a waste to do it on the way there. Good to see its on the road again, one very cool car. Doc.
Congrats on finding the time to get her on the road again Alex! Can't wait to see her again! Did you ever change out that cheesy temp gauge? jerry
I didn't put the crappy $9.95 Gauge back in... I'm going to check some of the wiring today ( make sure it has turnsignals, brakelights, etc ), and then I should hook up the '36 Temp Gauge or the S/W you got for me...
