Got a leak on my SBC header where the doughnut fits between the header and the belled down tube with a slip flange. The doughnut appears even all around. Thinking of trying some sort of sealant on the doughnut. Any suggestions? Thanks Bill

I've been using Permatex Copper on header flanges to block with oem stamped steel/fiber gaskets and on the bottom end, collector flat gasket or donut style, as well for many years. Never had a leak after the initial tighten and a followup at about 100 miles.
