Headed to the James Dean in a 56 Caddy

This trip has been five years in the making. My brother bought this Caddy about three years ago, rebuilt the 365 engine. Added a/c went over everything with a fine tooth comb. Well we needed to see if it was road worthy, so we headed out from Garden City, Ks to Marion,In with stops in Missouri, Illinois, And Indiana. Kansas sunflowers, Hannibil, Mo Kearney,Mo Springfield Illinois

Nice, looks like the weather has been good for you...can I assume the Caddy is getting decent mileage...???

Great looking Caddy, great photos and this sounds like a great trip. Good luck with everything.

 

The weather was perfect, we hit a little rain about 200 miles from home. I'm sure glad it was last weekend because it looks pretty clear there today. And yes the Caddy got 15 miles to the gallon running 70 to 75 mph.

Went in the mid 90's. the weather was miserable but got to meet Gene Winfield so not a total loss.
The Caddy looks awesome!

 

Jealous!

 

Hopefully I'll get to drive me a little before winter.
