Aha! Now we know what this thread is about!
FORD : FIX OR REPAIR DAILY.
And the controversial.......
Since everyone is having such a great time with this. Can someone explain the “ bow tie”? Which is neither bow or tie.
Ledged has it that it was a wallpaper design that Cliff Durant saw in Paris and liked it.
Grew up in Detroit and the story we always heard was the lions in the crest were a connection to the Detroit Lions football team that the Ford family purchased in th 50's.
And Gene strikes again!
I bet you noticed that Fox News doesnt have any news about foxes
CNBC, CNN, MSN, etc..doesn’t have any NEWS so it doesn’t matter
Personally, I think that Henry was insulted that American kids were stealing VW badges all across the country and not Ford badges so he tried to make them more attractive. I don’t think it worked.
The crest was on Ford’s long before the earliest v-dubs could be found by any numbers..I don’t buy into that thinking. When I sold a 60 dub in the 70’s the kid who bought it was surprised it still had the Wolfsburg badge on the front which was meaningless to me.
"FORD : FIX OR REPAIR DAILY."
You know what they say, if you don't start any, there won't be any lol
May as well throw Dodges crest in here also for the ball busting.
Here are the Chevy Bowtie emblem theories.

Some say First On Race Day, Others say Found On Road Dead, to each his poison.
HRP, that was something new. GOOD JOB.
I used to be a Chevy guy in the past... Then when Chevy changed from a blue bowtie to a gold one, quality went down the tubes....
That's why I still like the old Classics...
I love my Fords. Chevys fit in 'em better than they do Chevys!
And we all know that was made up by a frenchman along with his glorious past.
They do have some foxes reporting it.
Why don't you run along and start your very own abbreviation thread like a good troll should.
Separate names with a comma.
