Time for another cruise for some burgers, beers, and rock n roll! We need to get the cars out as much as we can before we have to put 'em in storage for the winter. So, here's the skinny on this one. It's this Saturday night, August 1. The plan is to meet around 8 or so at the Hillbert's_on_35th_Street . We'll have some burgers, hang out, and bench race for the upcoming HAMB Drags until 9ish. At that point we can all caravan down to the World Famous Continental Club. El Jefe has a great lineup on Saturday. The Jade Idol goes on at 9:30, followed by Nick Curran and the Lowlifes and Kim Lenz. The club will have some spots up front set aside for us. Edit: To clarify, this Hillberts is NOT the one on Lamar. That one closed down. This is one 35th street, by Kerby Lane and Seton Hospital. It's right where 35th splits into 35th and 38th streets.
FYI... the old Hilberts location on Lamar & 35th is now a P.Terrys burgers. Hill-bert's has moved that operation over (west on 35th St.) to the old Taco Bell building next to Brykerwoods Vet clinic...across from the Randall's on 38th... This new location is where we are going to meet up.
Will really try to be there. . .may be working. . .but I'll try to rally some of the troops to head out for burgers and beer and music. . . Let the arm twisting begin
yeah you know... when the temp gets to cold to drive em' like the end of December when it hits 80. That's when buzzard puts on the red long johns and his teeth start to chatter. Man this 105 stuff is almost too hot for a roadster!
winter...winter...oh yeah. I remember winter. that's that week in January when we have to wear coats because it's cold, not because it's raining , right?
I think winter is that one day where one elementary school in NW Austin shuts down for half a day. The one day a year that I wear socks. Edit: I forgot to mention, i'm down for some burgers and Jade Idol.
Yet another amazing night in Austin. Killer burgers and kool-aid at Hill-bert's, then a cool cruise to the Continental to see The Jade Idol tear the place apart... Bob was friggin' possessed, or something!?! Then Nick Curran... Kim Lenz... illegal pickup bed beers... porn stars... damn.
