Projects haters gonna hate. My Rudy truck

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Plowboy, Jul 15, 2013.

  1. After seeing the photos of Rudy's truck, I'd say you nailed the proportions better than he did. I like it...hate the color but like the truck.

  2. Totally agree,,,a generous slathering of red primer would be the cats arse! HRP

Looks Good Man! Those trucks are one of the tuffest builds going. One wrong move and they start to look real goofy. Lookin good though. Keep it up.

Larry, you can paint it whatever color you want after you buy it. Red primer? Why do you want it to look like everyone else's? I think you are all homophobes.

It's a good thing you're so damned good looking Aaron, because you really suck at this whole car building thing.

"Bubble Top" is a popular move used in the gay porn industry. Plowboy was one of the first to bring it mainstream.

plowboy's posts sure do bring out the dusty ones! Not only do I love this truck, but I find myself glad to see some folks still here, on the new sensitive, and politically correct H.A.M.B.!

  16. An often tried but rarely successful look. Id say you have it nailed. Look forward to watching the progress and the fun that ensues with your builds =)

I don't see any hating going on for this truck. You probably need to retitle this thread something to the effect of:
"Plowboy's Amazing Jesus Technicolor '35 Ford Rudy Dream Truck"

Also, can you ask one of the neighborhood teenage girls to look at the firewall and tell you which is the same color nail polish at Target? I think there's gonna be a fuschia firewall bandwagon we'll be quietly jumping on soon.

"High five" for making the bed dump, definitely a classic component for this type of truck build. But how does one expect to "knock boots" while listening to Glass Tiger with such a sort bed? It looks impossible. Anyways, Thanks for sharing this build.

I also would love to know the wheel base of all the trucks? I think this is a sweet ride to do with a truck cab and go crazy with it.

I love this thread. I bought a 35 ford cab a few years back I think I might have to pull it out of storage.

I completely agree that a truck cab-based hot rod newer than 34 is all about getting the proportions right, keeping wheel base under control, and getting the stance just right. Aaron nailed this one. Sadly 99.9% of all the other builders do not.

While the Rudy truck is credited (or discredited) for starting all these truck cab-based vehilces, I am trying to remember, what year was that truck built? Is there any evidence of a simlar truck ever being built before i.e. little pages, hot rod mag, etc.?
