Anyone ever hear of or deal with Hasselgren Engineering Inc in Berkely CA? I sent them my one Weiand head for the coupe that has a crack in it. From what I read on the interwebs they seem to be the go-to place for repair on vintage engines. They do alot of work on some old italian cars I guess from what the owner told me.

I hope they can fix my head. HAHA!

  2. Isn't it a little late to ask if you already sent your head?

Nope never heard of them but a lot of restoration goes on in the bay area and there are a lot of real craftsmen there.

I never said I was right in the head. I generally do things backwards anyway.

  4. I wouldn't have you any other way.

if you can do anything backward that everyone else does frontward you have skills. ;)

Paul Hasselgren - well known (in the road racing community) Cosworth engine builder for Formula Atlantic, etc. I'm sure he's done lots of cylinder head repair.

    Thanks guys.

Just had to wait for the West coast to awaken. :)

Anyone else? Surely the power of the HAMB extends into that organization...

Update. Hasselgren farmed out the work to a specialist at Norman Racing Group down the street. Dennis carved out the crack and tigged it back up. He said the repair looks good. My fingers are crossed. Shipping out today so I'll bolt them on when it arrives and try it.

Yeah, I know them both. They both do good work. I would be seriously surprised if you are not totally satisfied.

So far so good. Two heat/cool cycles and one short test drive and no issues.

I moved the oil filter to the firewall also.
