This hemi has got my stock Dodge front axle sitting too low to the frame. I have to add shock mounts anyway, and can get some used Harley coil over rear shocks cheap. Anyone tried this to help support the extra weight up front?

  2. You would be better off to take your front springs to a spring shop they can rearch and retemper your tired springs.

Gotta agree, fix the problem don't throw a patch on it.

Cheap HD stuff? Never saw that before. HD shocks are not very good when they are new. Much better stuff out there.

I added a leaf to the front springs (35 Dodge) under my '36 roadster, which were groaning under the weight of the big Caddy. That worked just fine, and as I had them leaves, didn't cost anything. These are really pretty soft springs, and since I'd flipped the axle to the top of the springs, I had very little room between the frame and U-bolts. The extra leaf worked out perfectly, although you may be able to have them re-arched as well.
