It's a sucker holiday for guys duped by Hallmark, American greetings, FTD, Godiva, Russell Stover, ect. Im sure some idiot on here today will tell us his wife just loves the car parts he bought her for Valentines day.
One thing this thread is good for...reminding those of us who forgot what day it is...like me. Whew! Thanks lorodz, ya saved my ass...lol.
Having a wife that has always been involved in the Florist Business,,i can honestly say that Valentines Day is a major pain in the arse! It doesn't matter how far you go out of your way, people that wait till the last minute to buy flowers for their girlfriend/wife always get rude and pissed off if you don't have their sweeties favorite flower left in the shop at 9PM,,4 hour after you close but she stays late trying her best to help out! By the time it's said and done,,you should turn a handsome profit, overtime, hiring extra help, flowers costing the shop 5 times what they did last week and paying for the extra helps gas,,we are lucky to break even,,I won't even get into working the day and most of the night before in preparation,, HRP

Just a heads up for you guys wanting to send flowers,,stay away from those big name 1-800 numbers,,call a flower shop yourself,,these places are just gathers with banks of phones,,they don't do anything except take your your money and source out small shops at a third of what you paid them,,you don't get what you think you are paying for. HRP
The BEST job I ever had was a delivery boy for the local florist. V day, Moms day etc were the absolute best days. Everyone you saw was glad to see you, hugged, kissed, tipped etc. It couldn't have been better, well almost
I go to the local Kroger grocery store for flowers. Nice flowers, best price. Like $20 for a dozen beautiful roses. She leaves them in the vase for a day, then hangs 'em upside down 'tll they're dry. Then puts 'em back in the vase with no water as a dried arrangement, and they last a long time.
^^^^ hahaha, that's funny because I asked my wife if she could by the Edelbrock calibration kit I needed instead of some pointless valentines gift. And that's when the fight started.
