Happy Birthday Hot-Rod Dude!
Badass Lightburn Zetas..
Custom slow boat..
On with the Show!..
Hard to believe but it's the 40th anniversary of one of the best car movies ever made, American Graffiti. I watched it again the other day and it's still fun to see the cool cars and listen to the great music.
Haha, I was just thinking about this....
I have never posted on this, never considered myself an artist, just a guy who likes to draw and do hand painted lettering.
And its usually all manual type stuff...But a while back the wifey bought me a Bamboo pad and I have messed around a bit with it, not with much success in my opinion, but its certainly a challenge and something new. Here is one that I did, just messing around.
Very cartoonish and simple.
PS....watching American Graffiti as I type...
Happy birthday, everyone!
Here's an oldie...
have a great weekend guys
had such a spaced out week on meds dont know if i posted this already...been trying to get back into pencil sketching....this is a practice piece.....too big for my scanner so its a shitty photo but you get the drift....

Great start guys, and happy birthday to Hot-Rod-Dude!
Love the paintjob on the little dragster, Spoggie. Both of the customs are awesome as well
Bob, nice tribute!
Louie, thats pretty cool, even if "cartoonish and simple", it has a nice depth. how about removing the outline of the flames?
couple more of the daily quickies...
(GAZ m20 Pobeda)
(GAZ m24 Volga station wagon)
Another trippy one! Love it!
couple more of my spam, including even more of the O/T postsoviet fantasies, starting with a pair of Volgas (m21 & m22)
a made in Latvia - Ford Vairogs --- they even had the flatties! too bad that very few have survived till this day.
very-low-riding UAZ van... got a lot to learn about the paintjobs and especially doing them with pencils -
whaT? a T-tub butT coming soon...
Pencil piece I'm working on.
SURF MONKEY...Nice piece
Monochromatic rendering of Jaguar E-type:
Fantastic idea and love it...
Brilliant work as always....
Love your art and admire your talent..
Diggin' Janne's E-type- I painted this a few weeks ago in the rain at a local club race meet. Tom seems to have patterned this sweet sounding 4.2 on the famous 9600HP car which was raced across France to make the Zurich press launch for the new Jaguar- the E TYPE!
Man this week is putting out some krazy kool art ... thanking God for our unique gifts!!!
Thanks Mad Mark & kenmo for the awesome feedback!!!
Dig the watercolour on the 'custom slow boat' Spoggie
Im on a flying eyeball kick....
Bob - Love the Mel's Drive-In!
Surf Monkey - Pencil technique is fab!
N. Ozols - Neat! Colored pencils?
Custom Lettering - Another great pencil piece!
Janne - Top-notch Jag!
Spoggie - Another top-notch Jag!
Here's a couple from me.....
Just fantastic Bob. My husband and i watched our first tape so much we wore it out and had to buy another. Will always be the best movie ever.
Nice stuff so far! Here's one of my first attempts at one stroke lettering. Rough, but i'll get it.
Here is a new piece I did.
That's John Parker's Indian. I heard he is selling it. Just aint right. Unless ,of course, I had the cash to buy it!
This is titled "Liquid Manhunt".
Mixed media on vintage newspaper.
48" x 48" It's a big one.
Hope you dig it.
^ I dig it DD.. "You know what happens to nosy fellows- huh!?.. they lose their noses...slllckkk"
Thanks Aran- dynotrippy piece! Again!
Something new from me, just got done with this one yesterday. Zach Suhr posted a video he had done a while back, and as I watched it my brain kept telling me that it would make a great painting. I watched that thing so many times. Here is my version of the moment.
It's been a while since I posted anything, (and have never really posted much before) but I'm starting to get more focused on my automotive art. This is my first real completed automotive painting. It's acrylic, 12X16. It's not one for the portfolio but it was a good practice exercise and I learned a lot.
Jeez Bernie- best yet. Needing a print..
We are off to a great start again for the amazing Friday art show. It is really cool to see all the International contributions here, from the United Kingdom, Australia, Latvia, Nova Scotia, and Finland. You folks are my Platinum Star recipients of the day. It is so awesome to have all this world wide input on the amazing Jalopy Journal Friday Art show. Thanx to all ~sololobo~
