I've been lucky to attend the 50th, 60th, 69th and soon the 70th, or 71st? along with a few others. It is a great event during the cold Midwest winter.

I have been to a few when I lived out there. Great show!

  6. A friend and I got a wild hair around 1977 to to the Roadster show in Oakland. We drove from Carson City around Lake Tahoe, that had about 12 feet of snow, in my 65 Chevy long bed to the show. It was a first time for me.
It was the start of the come-back for customs and I remember a number of them, I have slides somewhere in my office. I remember seeing shirts being painted, but don't remember if it was Big Daddy Roth.
    It was a great time

I'm attending my second GNRS this year.
2007 was the first when a car built by a close friend's shop debuted in the Suede Palace and another close friends car was invited for the Top 75 75th Anniversary Deuce gathering.
This year a Pickup started by Dennis but finished by GAS and owned by another will be competing for the AMBR.

  13. I went to the 50th. It hasn't worked out to go back but it's not from lack of desire. It's a great show and a part of all of us old guys hot rod history. :)
