This is very sad. I hope everyone gets well soon! Good to hear it looks like everyone will be ok.

I have to admit, I'm very curious to know how it locked up? Maybe there's a saftey lesson for all of us?

Didn't really get a chance to talk to her this weekend, but what I was around her , she seems like a cool chick. I'll say a prayer for a quick recovery.

Matt, Whiskey Runner, the owner of the T is with Megan in the hospital. I'm sure once he gets the car, or the pieces I should say, back to the "He-Man's Garage" that the rear will be evaluated and he let everyone know what the deal was.

  21. The bad news, the car's gone. The good news she's not. Accidents are a part of life. Thank GOD this isn't one of those stories with a bad ending. People get their car run into, stolen, burned, you name it. She'll be able to tell the story. It just makes me sick to hear about someone getting hurt enjoying the car hobby. You have my prayers. Get well, build another car, enjoy life!

  22. Sounds like luck was really with her, with both of them. I've heard of that happening before, a friend had that happen in his pickup and it spun him into the guardrail, last fall.

Am I the only one now thinking that maybe a cycle helmet - even one of those ones that looks more like a bike helmet - might be a good idea in a little open car, especially with no seat belts? You can comb your hair back out a lot easier if the head's intact under it.

  28. This is truly an amazing thread...one you hope you never have to read. So glad they survived...WOW! I really get worried about enthusiast driving some of these "Rat Rods" I geuss being involved in professional sports car racing has taught me allot about safety.

Bad Bob nailed it, living to tell the story is the most important thing!
