We finally made it to Denton, bad intake manifold gasket on the 39 and now Bulletproof has lost his harmonic balancer.

It's the balancer we need help with.

Motor is in a 53 Ford, is from a 1983 Ford van half ton 302 C6... need a balancer and puller.

We're at the Motel 6 on 35 in Denton. We plan on heading to Dans to get plastered.

If you can help, please call 918.857.5279... ask for Bulletproof.

    Gracias!

I'm a Pontiac guy, so I may be totally full of shit, but....Make sure you score the correct balancer, as not all 302 balancers are the same.

Should be plenty of Ford guys around that can give you better info...

    Good luck, -Abone.

I'll put it in the truck together with a puller.. Mine is a C8 part no (1968) not sure that's the same as your engine.

Since the motor is from a 83 it has to have a 81 and up balancer.

    ^^^^ He's right

  19. Dorman part #594-019 is for 81. the book skips 82 and 83 like the plague.

  20. did a little more research, factory # is D5DZ-6A312-A. that D5 at the beginning means 1975. mavrick. the number is bad now. there's a dealer in kansas that has 6 leftovers. don't know if this helps at all, but, it's all i can do from here.

From the Autozone site that appears to be a 28oz balancer. They only show SFI race balancers for $208 and up, but I see that someone on DFWStangs.net in Midlothian is selling a new one that has never been used for $75 here http://www.dfwstangs.net/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=111955&cat=11

Also, I searched and found a cell phone number he posted back in 2005 on an ad that might still be a good number... 682-472-8605

There's 4 I find listed for that engine but since it's vibrating that bad I'll assume it's the externally balanced one. That leaves 2 options from one manufacturer other than dealer that I could find. Seems to be a one or two year only deal as apparently 82 and 83 were pretty transitional for ford.

I visit other forums sometimes to try and scoop up unwanted flatheads, intakes, 94's, etc.

Here ya go: Street Rod Talk Forums.
