    Howdy,

If she needs an honest repair shop take it Simpson Import Center and talk to Brad Cunningham - the owner. I grew up in Columbia, Mo and have known Brad for years.

    Good luck,

Ok, first is they make it safely to our daughter's place. (Ran nearly an hour on a different battery, that's an answer to prayer)
I called James Schrader and left a message. I also gave my wife the number.
Atch is taking the truck to O'Reilly's to have them test the battery and alternator.
They might be able to fix it tonight. We'll see.
    Thank you eveyone!

    I just spoke with him.
Atch told me that the battery had a dead cell. That is being replaced. My thought is the alternator is suspect too since it should run without a battery...

  11. Robin, put in a Deep cycle marine battery,or use jumpers from it to the main battery[walmart]it will run a car about 5-7 hrs with no alternator charge at all....just to get home

  12. freakishly the low tonite here is only gettin down to about 60degrees....jus a few days back it was only 9 degrees daytime highs....

    Very glad about the weather.
Better than having to withstand 10 degrees while changing things.

Yup your right the truck should run with a bad battery on just the alternator as long as the rpm are kep up and leave off the AC, radio, so you might want to check the output of it.

    Good Luck Bud.

She will call you in the morning. I don't trust that the alternator is doing it's job. After the new battery was put in, there still was an idiot light in the shape of a battery on the dashboard, she told me.
Thanks for all the help folks. My wife and I appreciate it.
