Hello, I live in the very south of Brazil and I'm currently 'restoring' a 56 f100 (61 here) that my father owns since the early 80's. Currently a newbie in the forum, although I've been a lurker for the past months.
Hello Gabriel. If your pickup is a 1961 (1956 look-a-like) is it a Ford or Mercury? How is it to find parts in South America? Welcome to HAMB 1 more car I promise, Rex Winter Lubbock Texas
This is the truck about 20 years ago, today she is getting some metalwork done to bring it to life again. The lovely Y block! If somebody paid attention to the first image... yes it was a crew/dual cab. Made when the truck was brand new in 1961. The roof panel uses the rear of the original cabin lol. Althought it's VERY rare here, it was too ugly, so we're converting it again to a single cab setup. Here's some pictures of one slightly different dual cab survivor, there were lots of "manufacturers" you could ask for a custom brand new truck. Also, a link for a blog post I found about those beauties: http://caughtatthecurb.blogspot.com/2011/03/weird-ford-trucks-from-brazil.html I don't remember the exact years for the F1, but the 55 model began being sold here in 57, by 58 they were made here in Brazil (maybe using retired american stamps/machinery?), the 56 were made and sold in 60-62. Then we got the third generation from 62 to 71, in 68 it got the twin i beam suspension. From 71 to 79 we got the fifth generation/bumpside one, wich in 79 got rebranded to F1000 (because of the carry capacity in kgs) and continued to sell with minor facelifts/modifications until 1992, when we received the eight generation that lasted until 1995. The ninth generation came in 1996 and was sold for three years (1999). Then, the f250 came to take its place. For the curious, the brazilian fords received a different hood badge, with the cruzeiro do sul constelation in the side ones and "brasileiro" written in the front one. Also, it was green and yellow ahha.
