it saddens me to announce the passing of a friend and fellow hamber "old injun"

tony verhulst age 47 was found unresponsive in a tanker where he worked last night. an investigation is underway. every year around this time i bring up the story of our bonzai run to autorama and this year was no exception. tony took his hamb name from the 56 pontiac chieftain he once owned and raced then later sold to another hamber, dave,

The Adventures of Old Injun and Silent Rick" sounds like a movie title. I am sorry for the loss of your pal. Too young.

My condolences to his family and friends.

One of the instructors for my welding class retired from welding up aluminum tanker trailers. By the sounds of it, not an easy way to make a living. Many of the teachings about safety were related to what can go wrong in that endeavor.

I was at miami subs one night with frank in his 51 merc. tony was there giving frank shit about the shrunken head he had hanging from his mirror, saying it was bad juju.
when tony went in for a bite to eat, frank hung the head on tony's mirror and we grabbed a couple pics of it. the next night tony blew up the motor in his shoebox.
maybe he was on to something

  15. Tony and Sue used to stop by quite often. I lost touch with him the last couple years. He was a good guy.

Wow, sorry to hear about your friend. He was too young. Many years ago when I lived in Whiting an Hammond I used to hang out at Miami Subs, and Blue Top. I had a grey 75 bbc, ElCamino, B5 blue w/white reflective stripe and white interior 70 GTX and a Maroon w/parchment interior 65 Pontiac Gran Prix.
