One of the greatest things about the HAMB for me has been all of the great pics posted and I have been thinking that it's about time that I tried to contribute. So, here's some pics from the drags and I'll post a vid at the end of the photos.
Seems to be working, so here's some more... One of the celebrity entries! If this one doesn't make your heart skip a beat, you probably should come out of the closet.... If there is one car that adds more to the mojo of the HAMB drags than anything else, I think it is this.....
And some more..... Kerry seems to be close to getting this car sorted out and I think a lot of folks are going to be enjoying this car! This Pontiac has to be heard to be believed. It has an exhaust note that makes me think of the late Super Stock/early Pro Stock era, that seems to just hit the pavement and go straight up your back....awesome!
Still more... Go ahead and spend $15K on your mill......and you probably won't impress as many folks as this one did....... I saved my favorite of these for the last.... I'll post a movie in a bit....
Here's the video. I'm new to this movin' picture thing, so don't expect anything spectacular. It is full 1080p HD and Dolby stereo, so it's best viewed with 1080p HD selected on Youtube and full screen view, with speakers cranked......
Thanks for the kind comments guys! I really enjoyed my walk around the drags taking pics. I walked through the event by myself, snapping a pic here and there, and got a good look at all the folks and how they spent their day. It was no doubt that a lot of people were really having a good day. It really had little to do with the cars. They were enjoying the company of old and new friends, face to face......and that was the most nostalgic thing about this event to me. Cell phones were being used only for photos. Almost as if they were all locked on the photo function. I don't think I saw anyone talking on one, or even a kid texting the whole day. It was one of those days that makes me think that the USA may be in the hand basket, but it ain't been thrown in the fire quite yet. Yeah, I would say it was a good event. I have posted all the pics and video I have. Now that I have a little experience covering an event for the HAMB, maybe I can be more thorough next time.
