    Hi all,

As I’m new to this forum as of today I would like to take the opportunity to present myself:

    Name: Mats Winbro
    Sex: Male
    Nationality: Swedish
Residence: Floastad (translated into English = Rivercity)
    Age: Born in 1964
    Civil status: Married
Family: Wife Agneta and father of six children
    Occupation: Musician and farmer
Record: Brother-in-law of H.A.M.B.-forum member Stefan T with whom I have shared the lead-sled interest since high-school. Actually I think it was me who dragged him into this custom-building morass some odd 30 years ago :) !
    Hobbies: 1) Music 2) Old VW’s 3) Farming
    Dreams: To build a ’32 5-window hardcore 50’s hotrod-style
Blunders: Always having had low wages leading to missed opportunities to actually build/buy really cool cars
Curiosities: Served as radio operator in the Swedish Army once, hence my choise of avatar (“Radar” from the M*A*S*H movie/TV-sreies)…

My present daily driver from March to October – a ’62 Ford Country Sedan 9-seater Wagon, bought in 2008

My first serious custom body work was done on this ’68 VW Type 3, built in 1985

This car was built by me (standing) and my buddy Stefan T (sitting) and included top chop, building of full hard top side windows, new deck lid and new tuck’n’roll-inspired interior

My first ”Hot Rod” was a German made ’74 Ford Consul with a 4-cylinder Ford Pinto engine, back in 1986

My first American car was this ’54 Ford Customline with a Y-block, bought back in 1987

Tack! Thanks for you comments on the VW - since me and Stefan T were really young (and short of both cash and experience) it was really tough to customize it without proper tools and stuff, but it was also great fun :p !!

Thnx - there are some good stuff built in Sweden and in Finland, I must agree there  But that must be because our winters are so long and dark that we actually more or less live 24-7 in our workshops ;) ...

Oh another kid with Swedish roots  ! Can't be that hard to locate the birthtown of your grandfather - hey, Sweden is a really small country compared to the US.
