We have Lots of Pic Threads and they all have a purpose...

    1) Historical Hotrod Imagery to Understand What we are in fact Revering here

    2) Sharing Ones Pride and Joy or Build

    3) Gleaning Inspiration to potentially Implement and Compliment Our Own Creativity

So This Thread's Focus is on Half Fendered Hotrods...by that I mean generally Rears with no Fronts or Fronts with no Rears with the latter not as common but It Was done...

Why...Because they are not Full Fendered Nor are they Highboys...and I don't like explaining it isn't this and that...It Is What it is Half Fendered

I love the look...and My Ole Hotrod is just that Half Fendered...;)

So I'll get the Ball Rolling...

I had both combos and all 4 from time to time in early 60s,not out of choice on my part,as back in late 50s an early 60s some Cops would give out a ticket for no fenders in south Florida. So I added MC type fenders, that there brackets wing-nut-ed on to the brake backing plates=so I could remove them{ I didn't like them, but also didn't have time or $ for tickets.
So depending on timing, just the fronts were on/rain thing= face full of water on left turns,or none,or all.
There was one a-hole cop, that if he was ass-igned to my neck of city{Coconut Grove},I had to have all 4 on.
I'm not even sure at what year I lost them in the past {70? maybe gone forever},but still drive my old rod with no fender.
Sorry no pic with just front,or just rear,I didn't like the frenders anyway,so having a photo of them fenders at all in the early 1960s is a bit freaky. Thought the story of why,in my case, would be a little interesting to some one ! Hot rod 2.JPG

Sliced I think your saying my Thread Title is confusing...I just would like to say I researched every combination I could think of to describe this to ensure this subject wasn't posed and came up empty...

Thanks for looking there are some Icons that I know of and expect the will be shared...

Check in often...do you have one by chance?

This is the best photo I have at the moment. I switch from full fendered, to half fendered to no fenders depending on whim.

Dana I think the Ole Hotrod looked pretty good with the Cycle Fenders...Your Modern rubber would necessitate larger fenders and I agree not complimentary at all...

You raise Fender Laws...I was fortunate... no issue here...but I get it money better spent on gas rather than fines...Glad things have changed for you...

Rain that's an issue of course...I don't drive in it...I suppose if I did I would stand out like a sore thumb...next thing you know the twenty foot vertical spectacles are being flagged for causing visual distractions and fender Laws are implemented...

I face it like this...Hotrods aren't generally practical and are not like my daily...but I work with the limitations.

I'm glad you kept that picture...;)

No..'32 has four, '34 has none and just the thought of a '40 Woodie with less than a full compliment of fenders is far more than my elder heart could endure.

No matter what, the love of Hotrod is not a universal thing...Especially here...but yes with the onset of the fatter Fenders made Half or No fenders very difficult to pull it off...but I have seen a few mid to late 30's offerings that worked for me...and maybe a few others...

No photo guys, but I had a deuce Plymouth, is pa the one with the oval window, cannot recall right now. Well it was hammered, so cateye window. It had boat trailer fenders bolted on the rear.....not cool to me, kinda ruined the lines, but I do like the aesthetically pleasing versions.......

I'll be following along looking for cost effective (I don't want to say cheap ) options for fenders for my A.

A quote from sometime past, don't remember who said it:
"Do what you must, but don't go off 'half-fendered'."

a03.jpg Buddy of mine's T bucket. Two bodies put together to make a four seater with back fenders.

  26. I like this one and it gives me a chuckle, someone (OK many someones) here would say that you can't go fenderless on a boat fender car. LOL

Love this car its a rule breaker.

That is a cute as a “bug on a rug” :) I would like to see it with a hood and a variety of grilles just to see what the visuals would be like.
