Half Channeled Pics???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by metal surgeon, Jun 20, 2011.

  1. I'm thinking of putting my Early a model tudor on 32 rails, channeling it half way over the frame to keep the 32 style line visable and sweep up the cowl sides to match the front curve of the style line...

Does any one hav pictures of such a thing???

Any pics would be grately appreciated

I was thinking about doing this. I believe that Josh's (TUDOR) '32 is channeled only partially. I think it looks so rad!! I haven't found examples of them doing it back in the day but it's rad and you should do it!!

Josh I noticed that after we got home from the show. I was wondering what the hell makes your cars sit so awesome and then I stumbled on the channel. I was like BINGO!!!!! They way you did it, visually slims the profile but doesn't hammer the car so low it looks slow ya know? Awesome job and it's one of my favorites!

  10. SUPERSTOCKGALAXY, you have it there with the upsweep on the sides! nice pickup

JefferyJames, I know what you mean, i havn't been able to find any from back in the day done this way but, most of the time everything has already been donee by someone some where ant some point so i'lll do it... that and the rest of my tudor project will be very 60s inspired

Slddnmatt, I have never seen VooDoo Larrys coup from a low angle, i did know it was on a 32 chassis but never knew why.. i do now!!

Thanking all of you for the help to find some of the pics Aaron MS

Oldebob has a 27 roadster, phil weiand had a '27 roadster, and i have a 27 roadster i'm doing, all chaneled around 2" on 32 rails

  15. Some other things that are different are that the wheelbase is only 104" and the body is forward a couple inches. I've only got 30" between the cowl and the shell.

  16. Here is a pic of the tudor i am going to do this to, I picked up the Genuine 32 chassis from a mates dad Tony Kuchel, ... just happened to have them up on his loft and didn't suit his current project as this chassis has been lopped off afer the rear kick... SCORE for me

  17. Here's my 30 Tudor Sedan on original '32 rails. Channeled 1" at the back, 2" at the front and lower front swept up to fit in with the line of the rails. Works for me!

If you're looking for a new one Summit or Jegs probably has what you need.Maybe Ford Motorsports? Is it a Cleveland or Modified block? A Modified intake is wider because the deck is taller.

Cant believe I missed this one.

    Here's Jalopy Kids' old car.

Among the nicest I've seen. Tudor's is pretty bad ass!

TUDOR, how much of a chop is that? 2 or 3 inches
