On the 65th ann. of D-DAY went to a fundraiser/fly in breakfast in my coupe and The Liberty Belle B17G was there How Cool! Here are a few pics I managed to take (I wish I was a better at photography)
Very cool. That plane was just in the Fresno area a couple of months ago, I got to see it flying overhead all weekend long.
This car is spot on. With the black and white photo you can't pin it to a year. This is why this site is inspirational. Love the car and love the pics!
Great pics, thanks for posting. Was fortunate enough to take my youngest daughter to see a B-17 and B-29 some years ago...listening to the B-17 fire up made the hairs on the back of the neck stand up, sounded like a flathead on a heavy dose of nitro...these planes cost something like $2000 an hour to fly, so I really respect the flyers for both saving them and flying them around the country to remind us of our history.......(your coupe is one of the nicest A's I have seen, everything is right on it)
Already been done in B&W but I removed the flash from most of it quickly... Here's both B&W and Color... Great shot, I've got a new screensaver now *** click on the image, then click again, then a 3rd time to fill up the screen... ***
Very, very cool. When you look inside a B-29, B-17 or B-25 amd realize these guys were flying them at 35,000 and having shit thrown up at them you get a great respect for what those guys went through. Salute to ALL vets. _________________________________________________________________________ And OKC still sucks!
Thats so cool! Killer A. It's perfect in my opinion. I've seen it before here on the HAMB and have always admired it. Those are some great pictures in front of that B-17. The Flying Fortress is one of my favorite bombers. Thank you for sharing with us all.
Dang what an op! That black and white is now my desk top! And you say your not much of a photographer! The angle that its on cuts out all the modern UHF and VHF aerials on the B17, yup, makes it a timeless pic alright! Doc.
