I'm sure many of you saw my buddies old 34 ford roadster. Don Weber has had that car for over 30 years, and it hasn't change much other than a motor rebuild or two. That hot rod is living proof that a flathead will run! Banjo rear, torque tube, 39 top loader(with the good-ins) 59 ab and runnin four 97 carbs etc. He blew right on by me in my black 40 coupe at the traps!! And I'm runnin a chevy overhead! A day I will never forget. I can't recall ever having that much fun. Webs old school and he's not on line, so I'm passin on the thank yous from him. He had a blast! Anyone get a pic of the race? Thanks again to Ryan and family and all the HAMBERS for bringing back an event that will keep the hot rods rollin! Mike ----------------------------------------------------------- VAGABONDS CC
I was dying to know what that car ran in 1/4... Do you remember???? Was one of my favorite cars at the show...

We spent Sunday with Don at his house and that man is definitly a flathead nut. He has a computer just needs one of you guys to show him how it works. Don said this was the best show he's been to all year and loved running the car and next year he's going to run it wide open all the way down the track. His place is flathead and ford part heaven hope he makes it on the HAMB. Jr.
Weve tried to get Web on the "web" before but that boy`s too busy building pre war Fords to get on a computer! He`s Old school!! If it wasnt for Donnie, a bunch of us wouldnt be on the road yet!!
Flatdog you guys would have gotten along great. Would have been neat to see you both lined up at the strip. Jr.
Visor....sorry I didn't recognise you or your car....I'd loved to have shot the B.S. with you a while....
Same back at ya Rock, I would have like the B.S. I was drivin my old black 4D coupe (wide whites and no hood). Maybe next run man we can talk Poncho's and drink tequiia. Fatabone.. man what can I say, you and your buds are the best. If it wasn't for you guys trailering my sons (regularJD) red '56F-100 back to Mo... man we would be just gettin home. Ha! but thats what he gets for trying to beat the old dad's 4D. We will crack the '56f open this weekeed....think it might be a cracked flexplate. And thanks to T-ED. for pullin the the hole thing together for the trip home. If Mikie ever get his computor back up, he will thank you all himself. ----------------------------------------------------------- Free ice at "Cobb Liquor"
visor...glad we could help out. It was nice to cruise Mo. some more in the A and check out Don's place. Wish I could find a 40 like yours what a steal and Eric says he wants a big block in his truck. Look forward to hanging with you all next year. Jr.
Got a chance to talk with Don early Sunday morning. We were both gassing up heading home. He is definately a flathead nut. My 3-window's flattie is built very much the same as his. Man I would have love to gone down the track beside him. Can you ask him what cam he is running. Sounds like we have the same cam....and old school isky 1017 race cam with extremely long duration and tons of overlap.
