My favorite movie of all time and my favorite actor of all time. The coolest of the cool! Mitchum getting arrested by the Revenuers, and Mitchum, Sandra Knight, and I believe Gene Barry hanging out by the Olds.

That movie is sweet. AMC plays it every now and again.

    Wasn't Mitchum's car a 1950 Ford though?

Yes it was a ford, and also a Lincoln (check out the chase scenes for the Lincoln). My favorite chick singer Keely Smith was also in the movie and also Mitchum's kid brother in real life was his little bro in the movie.

I saw them film parts of the movie......Asheville NC .I was 10 years old. It was so cool.....

    sound clip of the movie

In the movie the lead character, played by Robert Mitchum, drove a shoebox Ford. He bought a new for them 57 Ford. A neighbor had a 40 Standard coupe and bought the shoebox from Mitchum ( Luke Doolin ). The bad guys blew it up and killed the neighbor...thinking it was Doolin.

In the 1st photo....that is Gene Barry arresting Luke Doolin.....( Robert Mitchum )

    I bid $20...........

I actually HAVE that movie poster too... it's 6 feet tall! I bought it thinking it was from some re-showing, cuz the art is so bad... but it turns out that it was real! Worth about 400 clams... I paid 20.... gotta love it!

When I first bought my 4 door 49, I thought about turning it into a "runner"... this old guy I know in Birmingham told me all about his dad running shine... told me that they took his back seat out and fabbed a shine tank in the shape of the back seat then upholstered it and put it back in... said he used to ride to church with the family sitting in the back seat on that tank.... cool!

I guess we can let this aution go till Friday Jan 27th... then you know the routine... send the money to Ryan and I'll send the pics to you. I was going to keep these stills as a set, so you're bidding on BOTH!

Why is the song "The Auctioneer" going through my head? Maybe I should auction my 45 of that song too...
I guess you all know that Mitchum wrote the song Ballad of Thunder Road too... he's my hero. I was born too late.

  14. <font color="red"> BOTH.....well then I am getting a bargin ...
