Hot Rods Ground up 28' on 32' rails. Subrail question

Hey guys, first official question so far...

Just mocking up some pieces to get a feel for dimensions, etc.

These are repo 28/29 wheel wells placed on the new subrails that I just jigged up.

Should the wheel wells have a bend in them to follow the jog in the back of the subrails?

My model A is toast in these areas, so I don't have a reference.

I just checked my '29, which I added new w/w to new subrails. I did fold the bottom under and up the inside and theres about a 1/4" gap that tapers back to nothing at the rear. Don't know if that's correct or not. The subrails are curved as you mentioned, the w/w are straight.
