it was a hardware mesh i bought at a flea market. it is either really hard aluminum or a softer stainless.

 

Just ran across this thread while doing a search on 54 Fords, and saw these pics. Look what I saw at TROG west just a few weeks ago.


I can't seem to "get behind" it either, but it was unusual enough that I had to snap a pic of it.

 

Wow....that is NOT a sight one see's very often! How could anyone NOT take a gander at it? So odd lookin'...but hey, ''to each their own'' I suppose.......it sure leaves me scratchin' my head in wonderment and amusement.....thanks for sharing the photo!!!

That Lincoln "Twin Nose" came out of Lee Hartung's museum, in South Chicago.
Can't recall the story behind it, thou.
