He really didn't like writing about those useless pro-street cars in the eighties, as you can see..:D

I have to admit, I was like WTF is this crap? And it surely is O/T, but really, really funny. I don't know how the author got away with this. I've never even heard of this article before. Thanks OP!

That was awesome! I really miss that mag, and the sister "Muscle car" publication. :) DeFeo has to be one of the best automotive journalists of all time.

Good stuff, but I wager there were at least two people who got fired over that (the writer and the editor)

Hilarious man. He did make a point about the fact that all the articles are basically the same though.

...as she started to let the cream slide down her ample bosom. Yeah, man...ample. I started foward when I noticed she wasn't looking at me, but sort of to the side. I didn't even turn completely when I felt something clock me on the back of the head. Things went fuzzy, and all I remember before blacking out were two voices, sorta hushed, arguing...

"......as the door shut, I noticed the gears on the rear end. Not knowing what to do next, I grabbed my camshaft and headed for the unknown adventure that was ahead. The thought of the piston moving at such a rapid rate made me worry about the possible noise and heat that might create, but I moved ahead anyway. I was young and reckless and the opportunity awaited me that was a once an a lifetime dream...."

  23. That is the best article I have ever read. I wish I could turn in reports like that at work.

I don't know how long I was out, but it had to be a while. My mouth tasted like a mix of tequila and motor oil. I opened my eyes to the most unusual sight I have ever seen...a whole row of Suzies with their eyes closed standing against a strange wall, with lots of blinking lights and stuff. I stood up and fought the urge to evict last nights fajitas all over my would-be girlfriends feet. What the hell is going on? I started for what looked like a door when it opened suddenly. I wrestled with impossible thoughts as I realized that standing before me was something I thought near impossible. Standing over eight feet tall was this marvel of invention, a testament to cruelty and grace. I could only think the word.."

I get the same feeling from R&C and others sometimes. Mr. A had Shop B build him this great car, then someone else did his upholstery and paint for him. The car has blah blah blah. The car magazines are all formulaic. TRJ, TRK, etc are more independent and have more flexibility in their writing and are more interesting. I will admit that is the first and probably last article I have ever read about a Camaro!
