These pictures were taken last Saturday during the 2006 Great Race start in Philly. Unfortunately, my wife disappeared with the camera before I could take pictures of everything, so I'm missing pictures of some old racers and some rare antiques.

what happened to the old rules where every entry had to be pre-war? do they have classes now?

 

Sorry, those are all the pictures that I have. Halfway through the event my wife swiped the camera to take pictures of ridiculous things like the kids.

 

Gaaaaa, how come i didn't know about this. i don't think i was doing anything last Saturday.

 

cool pics. No shit, that 57 Buick pulled into the gas station I was filling up at. I was BSing with the owner for a bit. 364 Nailhead and hydro, all factory. Has had the car like 4 months he said. Good to see people driving em, but take off those knobby hubcaps for chrissakes!!!!

 

I guess I am too old. If you put across country in an open 20's speedster, you've got my respect but to cruise across country in a 57 Buick?? Wow what a daredevil.

I've dreamed of doing it since the first one. It doesn't seem to have the same cachet any more.

I read on their website that next year they are upping the cars to 68 or 69.

The limit this year was 61.
