photo Vnak Hello, My wife always has an eye out for any cool looking hot rod. When she actually sees one she likes, the camera comes out for some photos. Knowing the trials and tribulations of owning a 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery 327, A/C, auto, for several years and driving it around So Cal back in those 20 something days did a lot. Now, she keeps an eye out anywhere she goes for that elusive shot of something she likes. Plus, she likes to be the first one, while driving around, to see a cool looking hot rod or custom truck coming down the road. These days, we can refine it down to…”a hot rod that she would drive and be seen driving around So Cal.” OK, that limits it to very few we have seen. She likes her own powerful all wheel drive car for everything. But, knowing her hot rod/drag racing husband likes cars of all kinds, (Except Mustangs) a photo is the next best thing to buying the actual hot rod. Vnak photo When she was wandering around several designer showcase homes last year, she could not help but notice that there was a whole street blocked off for a neighborhood, hot rod display. Those cars tied into the display of designer created homes in the area. (ERA specific) If the husbands were tagging along, now, there was something for them to see and like. It is not that we (husbands) all would not like those cool upgraded historic homes, but looking at hot rods seems like more enjoyment. Jnaki She knew the old guy was at home, since this was a “sisters” outing together. But, to appease the old guy, these photos were shown with much glee. This Ford Convertible would look very nice in our current two car garage. She would drive it all over So Cal visiting friends and to go shopping like most women are bound to do weekly. It was not for sale, or we would be sitting in it, smiling, while still in our garage. Vnak photo p.s. While on one of our weekly road trips, she saw several trucks and vans painted in this grey tone. Two of the trucks were almost the exact grey as in her photos and looked just as nice. Then in the next breath, she said, if we lived in Colorado or Wyoming, we would get a 4 wheel drive truck painted in this cool looking grey color. My next question was…a truck? 4x4? (In Colorado or Wyoming, for a couple of So Cal beach kids? Well, older So Cal beach kids…) What is the world coming to these days? (Sorry @denis4x4)
