When dad and I were at the GRNS this yr. and saw a Hudson with the deep hood he told me about grandad making the boat. Grandad did run shine in KY so I guess he was the first hot rodder in the family, but he did love fishing. My uncle took this picture around 1960.

  3. When I was a kid I found a boat made out of two carhoods welded together, thinking back probably 40's vintage. I floated down the creek, it was pretty fun.

There's a duck boat hanging on the wall of my dads pole shed that is made out of 2 40's international truck hoods. He had one when he was a kid made out of 2 40 Ford hoods.

  9. Same here,Back in the early 60's we found a hood boat and I'm pretty sure it was late 30's early 40's,we played with it a few days but we overloaded it with 3 teenagers out on the lake and it sank like a rock,,good thing we all could swim because we didn't prepare for a catastrophic failure! HRP
