I live on 2 miles of steep rough dirt and rock road, believe me it eats tires. Check the wear pattern on a flat track bike. even nice dirt wears tires. I agree with the depression theory too.

  2. Reminds me of an old Hank tune:

    Setting the Woods on Fire

"Put a little time to fix a flat or two
Tires of two are doin' fine
But the air is showing through"

Seen today at Chickasha. The dash looks familiar but I can't place the car. Photos taken by a friend. I was not there. IMG_0847.JPG IMG_3880.JPG IMG_0846.JPG

That T is Don Lang's now. He bought it recently off the T forum. It is FULL of great early period details. Supposedly it was built in 1940....but I think it's way older. More like the early 1930's.

I can assume there will be The 37Kid.

This T gets the honor of being stablemates with Multy's T.

Yes, and my old Morton & Brett can be placed between them. They all have a great home at Lang's. Bob

My All time favorite 3 springer. It still existed when I was a kid in the late 60s/early70s at Duane Steels vintage Chevy parts store in Garden Grove or Westminster...I can't remember which city now. I wasn't driving yet so I guess I wasn't paying attention. I'd go with dad when he'd buzz on over there for something.

The Chevy version has a different dash and a subtle change in the rear frame mount. I think there are only 3 known to exist. A good friend of mine has one. Have fun. Love this thread.

My 29 A version. No longer have it, smoothest running A banger l ever built, have not been able to duplicate. Had a cheep badly cast shift front drive pulley; could that have been it. Wish l had tried it on another engine.

Did you ever do this? I'm on a mission to build something along the same lines, but am in "parts collecting" stage right now.

Can the A axles be swapped to the T frame w/ stock T springs?

Nothing like dragging this out of the past, but it just caught my eye this morning. A Lincoln V-8 in a gow would be amazingly cool, but the Model T chassis might be a bit overwhelmed by the job. Great old photos!

Check out that parts room! Proof that those T shells with the bars were custom made not an owner fabed item. Can someone take a close up of that area? Bob

If I'm not mistaken, I see pivots on the bottom of that grille. It looks like an early shutter set-up, similar to what Pines did for the '32.

It may in fact be a Winterfront Style Grille as it does resemble open vents...With the resolution so poor it also resembles a Set of bars that could offer protection from a things that could damage the very exposed rad in a profession such as forestry...it is distinctly Model T shaped and in a quick search I have not seen a Winterfront that shape.

Aren't those bars or tubes on the fan side of the radiator?
