I can only add what's already been said, an outstanding first event for the VHRA. Here's a few of my pic's.

Thanks for all the positive words folks. We actually found common ground with the Bugatti boys as they are sneered at for being too high brow, where as we are for being too low brow. A marriage made in heaven. Or Prescott if you will.

From a Vintage Hot Rod Association point of view, the thanks goes to the support of the VHRA members and the hard work put in by the Sidewinders over the course of the weekend. Also to the marshals and staff at the Bugatti Owners Club.

To answer why there weren't more Bugatti's, this was our very own gig, just for the hot rods belonging to members of the VHRA, we weren't just tagged onto another meeting as we have been in the past. We decided to extend that invite on the day to those that showed up in their old American tin, by way of a thank you for supporting our first ever event.

In the background of some of the startline pics you can see a blue Aston Martin. I was chatting to the owner who, without bragging at all said he was staggered to find a similar car being sold at auction for 1.6 million. That's POUNDS not dollars. That's over 2 million bucks. For anyone there he was the chap in the round glasses shepherding us into the track briefing.

    Mart.

This year at the Hot Rod Blow out (New Zealand) there was a beautiful Bugatti on display too. When chatting to the owner he said ..."I haven't been to one of these before.... they are great"!!

So yep, interest on both sides :D

I've got this one. The roadster belongs to Pete Farmer, one of 'The Rolling Blokes'.

He came for a couple of ascents in Ma Dawge and said that in 30yrs of going up in all kinds of exotica he had never had so much fun as in my car. I was staggered and asked if he'd been up in a Type 35 B bug, 'of course' he replied, 'what about a Type 59?' (my Bugatti of choice) 'Oh yes' he said, '& my stock 58 Coronet was more entertaining?!?' 'Undoubtedly' was his joyful answer. I thanked him for adding £1million value to my old clunker.
