Event Coverage Government Collector Auction in Utah.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by mj40's, Dec 17, 2009.

  1. When I had my Over The Hill Rod Shop in Lincoln, NE back in the early 80's, one of my customers got nailed on dealing drugs.
All his cars were put up for auction WITH RESERVES. To the best of my knowledge none were sold at the 2 auctions the FED's had. They were still in a warehouse when I moved out of town in 1989.

A Judge allowed the auction to take place due to the $20,000 per month storage it was costing them! I thought it was BS that they could do that if he wasn't convicted yet, but...

There is mostly JUNK in the entire collection. You should hear the local news cover this story:

"Car Collector's Dream", "Get Your Engines Rev'ed Up!", "Get a Deal of a Lifetime!"

What a joke. However, I have come to expect that from the state where if it aint Babies or Basketball they don't care...

This auction is back on. New date: April 1st. Seriously. Now they have added reserves at roughly half of the appraised value. Might be fun, but who knows.

I wonder how many out-of-towners will choose NOT to come this time around, after traveling long distances last time only to have the auction canceled last minute.....
