  2. Sounds like you guys are shaken but otherwise OK. It could be worse. I hope they stick it to the DSOB that hit you and ran.

Did u get checked out at the scene? My brother was hit by a drunk head on while he was sitting at a light few years ago. Totaled both vehicles and my brother refused to go to Dr. because he wasnt hurt enough. Just a sore neck and back. Now he has back problems and its to late to claim anything. Go figure. by the way my brother is only 29.

When we were at the round up we saw a hit and run on Congress. Fucking people now days don't want to except blame for anything very sad. But on the positive side your family is ok and they caught the asshole. Time for a civil law suite teach the asshole some manners. My 2 cents

Glad everyone is alright but get checked out just in case. Best to make sure they record that you've got aches and pains than a "no problem" record that comes back to haunt you. It takes a lot to break a seat. Usually, your ass and back deliver the punch.

Take the earliest opportunity to have a complete medical checkover. Shouldn't cost a thing as insurance will pick up the bills. Don't take any chances especially your wife and child to be. Don't let it go, you need to be proactive to assure you will be covered if anything shows up. Even if you are just stiff and sore. You couldn;t protect yourself from the stupid sick bastard before he assaulted you with a deadly weapon, but you must protect yourself after.

And do look into pressing assault charges.

  16. No sympathy for drunk drivers here. Back in '90, my wife and two of our daughters got rear-ended by a drunk driver running at least 70. Truck driver who saw it happen told the state trooper that the guy's brake lights never came on. Her car had broken down on I-95 at Stafford VA, alternator went out, tried to make it to next exit but battery was dying, lights getting dim, and losing power. I was behind her in my truck. We got the car all the way off the emergency lane and over in the grass before I went on to next exit to call for a tow. When I returned from calling Amoco Motor Club (no cell phone back then) there were emergency vehicles all over the place. The drunk, who was driving a Hyundai Excel, hit my wife's '85 Buick Century so hard it put the left rear wheel under the driver's seat. My then-14 year old daughter who was sitting in the back seat was on the passenger side, and all had their seat belts on. Had she been sitting on the other side behind my wife, she would have been killed and they would have had to cut her out of the wreckage. Wife still has back and neck problems and will live with chronic pain for the rest of her life. Good thing a state trooper came on the scene about two minutes after it happened. Oldest daughter (16 at the time) was out of the car and ready to pull the drunk driver out of his car and stomp the living daylights out of him. Sweet girl, pretty as she can be, but tough as a pine knot. If the trooper hadn't stopped her, she would have hurt the drunk a lot worse than the wreck did.

Absolutely get checked out ASAP. A few years ago I was involved in an accident at work nowhere near as violent as the one you described. I was just going to shine it on but my supervisor insisted I be checked out.............I ended up with two inoperable, partially herniated discs in my neck. You need to know whats going on inside and make sure the wife/kid are OK.

Thank God you all are all right.
I just hope the bastard gets to do some time and may be he will think twice before driving drunk.
I would get a lawyer and take some legal action against him as well. $$$$

We are all ok. Some bumps and bruises, but that's all. It definitely could have been a lot worse, thank God it wasn't. The paramedics at the scene did a thorough check before allowing us to leave. The drunk SOB that hit us took off when his car couldn't go any further. The cops caught him and charged his stupid ass with driving under the influence and hit and run. Hell of a way to spend the 4th of July!

    I have full coverage
Just a pain in the ass

  22. I agree with all who say 'get checked out' as well as 'document everything'. I was rear ended at a light. I felt OK and was just going to go about my business after the cops left but had them call an ambulance before they did. Glad I did that; 6 months of physical therapy later I was almost all better.

My Dad was t-boned and felt alright but ended up having brain surgery 3 months later for a subderal hematoma that bled the whole time.

You can't tell if you're really hurt sometimes. Get checked out and hopefully you'll all be right as rain.
