Got my Traditional Hot Rod Chassis put together...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by SamIyam, Oct 28, 2012.

  1. Last time I posted pics was when I did the tech week post on the suspension. A whole lot of shit's happened since then, and I am finally making it back out into the garage to get some things done. Thankfully I have friends that are there with me, helping out... making it fun again.

Okie Dokie... detail pics... from my camera phone!

I also welded up a bunch of holes on the firewall and did the body work to get it halfway looking good...

Then Skot Randall at Livermore Collision matched the paint and shot it yeller!

    That's it for now...

    Stay tuned,

    Sam

That's a nice clean and simple looking chassis, great job. I'm another one who was admiring your work on the brake lines.

Beautiful work! What's the story on the steering arms? Steel plated originals?

X2 on what the steering arms are.

  19. It's gonna be a little cutie, Sam. Are you planning to leave the steering dampener in red paint?
Quality of work is really high. Love it.

I have a question. I noticed you ran your front brake line to the center of the frame and then split off to the front wheels. My car has always pulled left a little when I aply my brakes kinda of hard. My lines are run up the side of the frame like yours but the "T" fitting is on the left rail right by the left brake. Could this be causing my slight pull? During normal braking I don't so much notice the pulling tendancy.

I think Sam can take a little friendly ribbing. Haha.

The chassis really is nice...I like it alot. Especially the rear radius rod set-up.

Looks great. I really like the look of the stock wish bones, really gives it that vintage look. What year is the rear axle your using?
