image.jpg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Bought it with a 2" chopped w/s, and going to make it 3.5" with the posts laid back.
The bronze stanchions came with a car I bought 17 years ago, and never used.
I think for this season I'm going to paint the stanchions, polish the posts, and leave the frame bare steel with some Gibbs on it.
Pretty happy with the first test fit with no glass or gaskets, but still not crazy about the look of the top.
Apart again today to try something else.

  2. Good looking car sir. I like that you're leaning the windshield posts back to add an inch and a half to the chop.

I cut down my roadster WS and couldn't believe what a difference it made in appearance. Car since sold, and is getting a chopped top- should look pissah. View attachment 3508954

Sorry- didn't mean to sidetrack your post!

looks good - so, how is the view from the seat & head clearance?

View is great, I'm 6'2", and the seat is low, tons of room above my head.
With the 3.5" chop and the laid back posts, I'm not sure what the overall effect on the height is. I put the chromed stanchions back on today, and although they fit better, I like the profile of the bronze ones better. It's crazy how much adjustment there is between the stanchions, posts and w/s frame. Fun stuff, and I'm out of my wife's way before guests arrive late this afternoon. Win / win for everyone!
    Happy Easter.

I like the angle of the bronze ones, too. Hard to resist them, that angle looks perfect!
If you have a 'rag man' (upholsterer, preferably a boat guy) locally, take it by his place and let him trim, shorten, and sew up a custom head seam to refit that top.
Also, ask about a cool cockpit tonneau... I just drool over such a classic '32 roadster.
Happy Easter. (no new '32 roadster here, but I did find some eggs...):p

    Still messing around.
These are the original stanchions with the 3.5" posts, also leaned back. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg
