One of my customers had this given to him last week and he decided he didn't want it. It was running when the PO decided to start disassembling it to restore. It came with new cab corners, sill boxes, lower hinge plates and good Ohio title. I plan on putting it back together and driving it.
Lucky dog. I have always wanted one of those for a heavy duty daily driver. I would to put a Cummins 4BT in it and a TH400.
The front end looks decent from what id visible in the photos...the rear fenders can take a LOT of abuse...just pound them out. Freebies are always good, but a freebie '55 Chevy pickup can't be beat. Nice score...
Nice truck my grandpa has one. Its a 55 big window. Siting on a 64 chevy pickup frame with a 327 and a TH350. White with a blue pural. Heres some pictures of it.
When I was a kid (age 3-7 or so) my dad had one of those. He took the original bed sides, filled the holes, and added the fenders from a 68-72 stepside on it and the look was incredible.
A few more wires to run, bleed the brakes, build ladder bars and the gasser will be on the road. I swapped a 1/2" impact for a fresh 327 that I'm going to put in the Camaro next, then I'll start messing with the truck.
DAMN IT, I been lookin for one of those to put my 472 Caddy in but around here they're all pretty much junk. Nice score and hell I'll give ya 5 times what you paid for it
