Don't know numbers on rims. They are Magnum 500s that were on a '66 Mustang GT that I had for a while. Put them on the XL in about 1969 when I traded the Mustang. They are 14 inch and I am thinking of replacing them with 15 inch Magnum 500s with red line tires.

I always liked the 66 Fairlanes a lot.

Ronnie in high school had a '68 or so with a 302. One day he was driving us somewhere and up ahead was a long, sweeping curve that was lined along the outside with the metal reflector posts. The curve had a warning sign that said 50MPH. Ronnie maintained his 70 MPH and told he would have no trouble making it. The curve came, and Ronnie drove a beautiful arc all the way around it, at 70MPH. The only problem was his arc was about 8 feet wider than the actual pavement, which meant we all watched in horror as each reflector post came up in the windshield and was mowed over, one after the other.

Gotta love them widened steelies- I've got a set of dog dishes, but like it like this- '70's Blue Streaks, 4K converter, and a spool with 5.14's
This is at the Norcal Knockout a couple months ago- too bad you can't hear it. Randy, you know what I mean

  17. The 67 htp I sold to guy in florida. It was a vey solid car. I put the 351 W engine from a 69 in it. The 69 Htp Ive junked it out. The 59 grown into the tree had a 352 interceptor engine. I put that engine into a 56 with a stick shift about 40 years ago. the 61 was junked as soon as I Brought it in over 40 years ago. It was a 352 two bbl with a bad crusimatic thans. The 69,59 & 61 are going to the scrap man very soon. OldWolf

That milage is about what my 60 Thunderbird gets with the 352 but I'd probably get better milage if I slowed down a little. :D

  29. Not mine but they belong to a friend, Nick Smith. My father did build the engines in both cars, real 352-360hp.. Both run deep into the 13's and 12's are coming. You won't find a nicer pair of hipo '60s anywhere.

They will be racing here on 4-27-12:
