Vintage Torquefest is on in Dubuque if Goodguys Des Moines gets cancelled come on over there!
Yes I heard on the news that that the Iowa State Fair has been canceled. That is at the fair grounds in Des Moines the first week of August, so I don’t see any chance of Goodguys having their show in Des Moines 4th of July weekend this year. We were going to go to a show in Hastings, NE this Saturday I called a couple of weeks ago and the show was still go, now it has been canceled.
Thinking about going to Plainview this Saturday. They got the go ahead from the state.
Des Moines is on.
Columbus is cancelled.
Thank you @Jalopy Joker, I've been wondering about the Washington state show
Well I'll be.......
how about a guy with a little teardrop camper, any place around to "live" for the weekend?
Lots of people stay at the campground portion of the Iowa State Fairgrounds during the GG show...
The GG's 2020 event scheduled was revised again this morning ... and of course, is subject to change again ... but here's the latest:
If any one is going from within about 200 miles of Wichita Falls, I may be able to help with a little gas money. I bought a radiator from a guy just north of Sioux City. MAY be able to get it to Des Moines.
Haven't seen anything about limiting number if entrants for Des Moines. Anyone heard any updates on that? It's not mentioned anywhere on their pages that I can see. Planning to be there next weekend. Also wondering about a HAMB meet and greet again?
Online registration is still open. I would think if you are registered you will get in.
I wouldn't want to stand in a crowded registration tent hoping to to get in without exposure to any virus.
Is there a virus going around??
Bringing this up again.
Anyone from Sioux City area coming this way? Any help appreciated.
I will be in Des Moines on Friday and Dubuque on Saturday for Vintage Torque Fest. Anyone else planning on going to both?
Doesn't seem like the best idea.
Well, luckily I am not trying to patent the idea. Maybe not the best, but still pretty good.
Heading up in a little while
Verno,I wish I could do both...doing only Torque Fest. Swap on Saturday and Show on Sunday. But I DO like your plan better.
I really like the kkoa Salina show ,went to 5 of them but the large crowds with this virus makes me nervous. I think attendance will be down anyway. there is next year hopefully.
Some of the "H.A.M.B.-friendly" / "Semi-H.A.M.B.-friendly" cars on the fairgrounds on Friday, July 3rd:
Attendance seems pretty low. Thanks for posting
There is always a virus going around.
thanks for posting, i'll be there tomorrow
Four of us went yesterday and thought the turn out was pretty good, all things considered. Well worth our time and we enjoyed it all. Understandably, vendors were fewer than usual, but the major players were there and I bought some significant parts for my current ‘37 Chevy build.
Thanks to all who who showed up with their cars!
I went to Des Moines on Friday with my '55. I thought attendance was great, both people and cars. Talked to some friends, made some new. All in all, a great day.
This morning, I went to Vintage Torque Fest and sold in the swap meet area. Car count and people count was down compared to years past. Again, talked to many friends, made some new. All in all, another great day. Best part was hanging with @bobwop
I am now fried to a shiny-red crisp.
Happy 4th All!!!!!
I’m glad they had the show. A buddy of mine left on Wednesday, they stay with friends in Des Moines and won’t be back until Sunday afternoon.
