Thats cool, now you can hang your spare tire on the trailer instead of in the bed.
not sure if I am gonna get bounced again, but here is the first mock up of my 56 F250 on a (gasp) modern chassis & drivetrain (92 Crown Vic)
That is hot.
you guys come around there often? that shop is just up the road from my house. id like to check these trucks out sometime!
im building a 61 uni right now
When I first bought it. (circa 1987)
New front end.
The rear suspension tacked into place.
Power-plant, freshly built 289.
Yeah one of the truckers live out in that area. We likely will all be at the last Cruise In at Chick Fila on October 29th @ Providence Shopping Center.
Griz your truck is looking real good.
Hey Eli, I got some new wheel cylinders at Napa and a dual circuit master cylinder/power booster from Ebay. I just bench bled the m/c today and should be installing it all here next week.
Good to hear, from what I understand being able to stop is a pretty good thing. Drove my F1 over to the in-laws last Monday, the furthest that truck has driven since the mid '80s. Wouldn't shift out of first though, either a modulator or governor problem. Got all the new lenses and bulbs in, looks purty when all lit up. Will post a pic when I get one.
my 50' F1
in the works
Welcome to the sight. Nice rides guys!
Looks like a good start. Welcome to the HAMB!
If you don't have running boards start looking now instead of when you actually need them. They're kinda hard to find in useable condition.
allright another 223 guy...
How much chop is on the purple 56. Ive already wedge cut my hood and am debating on cutting the top.
Had to post this one.
wow!!! i have a 1955 coe that i am doing the same exact thing too. 4dr dual axle. i thought it would be the only one out there.. its amazing how somone half way around the world could come up with the same idea. do you have more pics of this truck? is it completed? if so please email me firstname.lastname@example.org
Hey you F1 guys, what type of radiator overflow tanks have you used? I need to put one in my '51 but there ain't much room, hoping someone has a cool solution. I don't really want to use a generic plastic one if at all possible.
I just used a beer can. But never needed it.
Don't know why but my picts don't seem to load.
my 68* with 410 merc engine
on a F-100, I used a vacuum canister from an 80's ford, looks like an old 48 oz juice can.
Fab'd up an aluminum bracket and mounted it to the rad support.
I remember those, looks alot better than a plastic jug.
Trip home back from the Hamb Drags!! .. fully loaded and fun trip!!
Shwweet! More details on suspension.
I put a 76 nova subframe on the front and flipped 9in with blocks on rear and C notched .. pretty basic junk.. nothing special here..
Here are my trucks with dropped i-beam axles
I REALLY like the green truck. That passenger grille on it is way cool!
