Okay, the back half is almost done, just missing fenders and bumpers.

  6. What radiator are you using?
    Did the support need modified?
I'd like one that doesn't stick up like a stock one.

Good question, I don't know. It was sorta in the truck when I bought it. By sorta I mean the only thing holding it in place was the hoses. It has flanges on the front side that don't line up with the boxed nuts in the original support, so I had to drill holes in the flanges, make about 3" spacers out of pipe and bolt it in from the front. It does have a center inlet and a metal overflow tube that runs to the bottom of the radiator. I like the height but the flanges stick out about 1/2" at the bottom so the valance is just loosely bolted in. I plan to get a better radiator that fits properly.
Here is a picture of it. You may be able to see the spacers between the flanges and the support. Kinda cheesy but I didn't want to hack up the support and I couldn't move it back.
Edit: Now you've got me thinking about reworking this one, maybe get a radiator shop to flip the flanges and then I can modify them. hmmmmmm:D

  10. here's what LMC is showing for stock radiators,
    48-52 on the left
    53-56 on the right
    [IMG]
on the list the top 2 are 48-52
    bottom 3 are 53-56

Since the core sizes are within 1-1/2" of each other, I don't think yours is 53-56. Mine has 5" of core above the fender top and yours is nearly flush.

Does it have an embossed number or name on it?

It may be the radiator out of the mid 70s Cordoba that donated the front suspension. It says "Use Mopar rust resistor" and "use Mopar antifreeze" on it, also the numbers 1686202 AB.

Oh yeah, I remember this. That looks great! Thanks for the visual. The nice thing about getting the correct wheels for my truck will be getting rid of the 1-1/2" adaptors on there now and tucking the tires up and in like yours. The p.o. put' em on when he added the Centerlines with the Chevy bolt pattern.

Nice truck! Did you make your own hinges for the tilt front end? Been thinking about doing that to my '51.
