great show except for the drive home from Lincoln to Omaha Friday night in my 40 Ford..drove into huge storm, downpour with tornado strength winds, couldnt see beyond the hood, following a truck with its flashers on at 10mph, we crested a hill & the wind blew me sideways so I was crosswise on the highway, then the wind started to push me sideways down the highway for about 20-30ft....I was able to recover & white knuckled it home looking through a 3" sq hole in my fogged up windshield...1st car is a survivor 34 Ford with an Olds engine built in 1959...the 49 Ford convert was bought accidently when the owners girlfriend clicked on "make bid" instead of look at pic on an auction site...it was a field find rusty relic with 4" of raccoon poop in it....the receipt is in the window of a 33 Chevrolet sedan & is the original from the purchase in 1933.
My son and I were going to attend but after that storm we spent the day cleaning up downed trees and limbs at his house....still have more to do tomorrow. Tough storm!
I saw that 34 coupe about 8 - 10 years ago at GG's in Des Moines. Neat car that I think was just out of storeage by the original builder??? Was that you or did you buy it recently?
I meet the guy that owned that car several years ago in North Platte NE and saw him at several shows around the country. His name was Gene I have not seen him for a while I hope he is doing OK. That is the nicest 40 I have ever seen. I tried to buy it every time I saw him even tried to trade him one of my 32's at one time. If I remember right he told me he drove that car to High School. Any way I'm with you MY, MY, MY!!!
