I think those colors look OK together. It does remind me of the San Francisco 49ers, and I do hate them, but overall I think the combo looks good.

  3. I vote for "icky". Maybe the right shade of red against the right shade of gold looks nice though.

Maybe you could buy a 1/2 yard of red vinyl and hold it against the your paint to see how it looks in real life before jumping into it. I put supposedly dark gray upholstery into a red car a long time ago, and when it was done the gray looked somehow green against the red. By itself it looked gray, but against the red, it looked like grayish green. I wish I had taken a little extra time to pick out a color that matched better.

Looks good on a first gen vette. Seen several cars that combo, all 60-62ish.

Actually I currently have a very nice red tuck n roll interior with a flat black paint job. Looks great but I'm considering a nice paint job and I've just realized I'm somewhat limited on my color choices!

I think this would look good with red interior. Just paint some of the interior metal to match.

Gold exterior, with a white and black piping looks awesome. IMO gold/red doesn't look too good.

  11. I second/third the "icky"

Go for white and a little black to offset it. Could do white and gold interior, but you have to see how the paint and material look together.

Gold and maroon sounds good to me. I think a third color always helps though.

Rick O'Shea I know your uncle Rich. That 54 used to be mine back when it was flat black. The car has came along way since I owned it...

If the red interior is a deep, blood red, it would look real good. If the red is a bright red, it could be iffy. Could go either way in that situation-- depending on pretty much everything.

You could do some red pinstripes (or even skinny skallops) with black and white (or cream) accents on the outside.

The color combo reminds me of the Rocketeer movie... or maybe even the recent Iron Man movie.

Add me to the + , if you try it before you buy it. Some golds have green in them and some have red in them, get one that will look right with your red interior.

I think if someone is going to run such an "IN YOUR FACE" color as metallic Gold the interior MUST be Red, or "Oxblood".

    DO IT!

Now that I see your car, it is bad ass as is. If you are wanting to do something to change it up a bit, why don't you do the roof in red metalflake and pinstripe the hell out of the rest of the car.

skooch - that gold with some quality pin striping will make your car one step above the rest, even with bags.
