Ok so Im going to Tulsa OK. on friday guessing I will be there in the afternoon, trading my 54 olds for a 30 model a roadster, might spend the night there. So is there anywhere there I have to eat while Im in town?
I like johnnys charbroiler on harvard. 15th st(cherry st) has full moon cafe, hidaway pizza quite a few places. Guess it depends on where you are going in tulsa?
I liked this place Rubyes Full Cup Cafe 4634 East 31st Street Tulsa, OK 74135 (918) 745-2233 http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...0.003718&z=18&iwloc=A&cid=6507333031567876979
toby keiths bar and grill at hardrock casino right off the turnpike in catoosa just outside tulsa. it opened last year the same month as the hamb drags and we went there after the races neat place and great food and affordable. better be hungry!
Any Ron's hamburgher and Chilli. Also over near the cassino there's a place called "MoJo's", great blues club and BBQ place. ZIOs for Italian in the evening.
ARBY'S .......... i donno sumptin bout tulsa and arby's. has to be good there is one intersection that has one on one corner and across the street anouther. sumptin like 19 locations. i shit you not look it up ! my son and i laughed for hours about it, even found ourselves driving around looking for them>
I loved my 54 but have lost interest in it lately. Here are a few pics of the roadster. I currently belongs to gassycowboy here on the hamb.
8ba motor 3 speed dropped axle, needs plumbed and wired and a few other things, I cant wait to get started on it.
I grew up in Tulsa. I love me some Coneys (original, no cheese) from Coney I-lander. There's one at 2838 E. 11th St. From fairgrounds go north to 11th, west on 11th to Coney I-lander. South side of road. Google "coney I-lander" and you'll get the history. I have to go to a Coney I-lander every time I return to Tulsa. I always eat at least a half-dozen.
Albert G's B-B-Q. About 3 min from the fairgrounds. 27th and Harvard. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| Like i told the kid, "Your music's not too loud, its just like OKC, it sucks!"
Be sure to go to Braums for desert. Best ever ice cream. There are several, one at 26th and Harvard is about a mile southwest of the fair grounds. There is a motor cycle and hot rod show at the Civic Center down town Saturday and Sunday. I'll have my car there. Tulsa has a lot of good restaurants, there are many on 71st street east of Memorial Drive. Try Abuelo's for Mexican, Lone Star for steaks. Good home style Italian at Mary's on 15th near Peoria. Al
Ollies Station Restaurant on Southwest Blvd (Route 66) is not too far from the fairgrounds. It's just off of I244 highway. It is decorated with electric trains and signs from the train era. It has a great deal of 66 memorabilia as well. http://www.olliesstation.com/ Food is adequate, nothing superb, but the motif outweighs the meal for what it lacks. Good luck...
