Bob called yesterday early afternoon from just west of Missoula. Running behind and headed home. Didn't get a chance to get together this trip, but Bonneville is comming before TOO LONG. Doug
Good evening from Beatifull Downtown Dickinson ND. No good pictures taken today. However I looked at all of Maggies pics and found some better photo's of some of the stuff I have already posted. I will share these with you as they give a better prespective of the original shot. She also shot some that I couldn't get while driving or that were on her side of the car. The coyote shot I took with my point and shoot was quite distant compared to her nikon. The nice buck A bear in a berry patch in Glacier National Park that I couldn't get a good shot of. Huckleberrys in Idaho The end of US Hwy 2 in Everett Wa The space needle from the ground up The restaurant we had lunch with the Morrison's on the Tacoma bay. We shall see what tomorrow brings as we head for St. Cloud Mn. and one more thing to take off of the bucket list on Saturday. The legendary FRENCH LAKE AUTO PARTS. Our buddy Moriarity is gonna join me there for a few hours of cursing the finest junk yard in the upper midwest. Film at 11 BB
gonna say it again, thanks for taking the time to do this. bringing back some memories with the road side attractions.
I lied to you about no pictures from the road, not excatly car related but I did take them from the 52. Took these while looking for a Rock called Pompey's Pillar. This is in the town of the same name. I think these are Guinea Hens, they were running all over the town. I tried to buy some of this honey but couldn't find anyone around. We never did find the damn rock btw. The worlds largest Buffalo at Jamestown ND This pic is for everyone I have ever told my " So, you going to Fargo Den" joke to. Tonight we are in St Cloud Mn. Tomorrow we do French Lake. BB
That joke doesn't tell well in print. Next time you run into Tex Smith, ask him, he should remember it. BB
Good Morning from Beautiful Downtown St Cloud ( who was St. Cloud ?) Mn. A lot of the towns around are named after saints that have familiar names, Robert, Joseph, Agusta, Stephen. But Cloud ???? Headed out soon for French Lake Auto Salvage with my buddy Moriarity. When I posted the pictures of the high end Packard dealership I left out one picture as a friend was dealing on the car. Well he did the deed and the car should be for sale soon knowing Bobwop. It is a very nice 99% original Lincoln Zephyr Coupe. Even the paint looks to be original. I hope to be able to get behind the wheel when next I get to Southern Wisconsin. Looks to be a fun ride. BB
thanks a TON for checking out the Zephyr! I truly enjoyed dealing with Tom Crook and you putting eyeballs on the car gave me confidence to buy a real favorite of mine. I hope you come a few hours South and take it for a spin. Then we can go to lunch!
Were always around if you want to stop by after french lake, its not too far out of the way for ya! JEFF
But it says Rice Mn. is that a suburb of St. Cloud???? Who the hell was St Cloud??? We are home already. Sorry but I didn't realize that you lived there. We could have gotten together last night. We were at the Quality Inn on 2nd st. BB
As you can see from the above post, we made it home, 5,560 miles in 22 days. It was great, we had a lot of fun and I had a lot of fun doing these post's. Thanks for all of the comments. Did French lake but as usual I was a day later than Titus so all of the good stuff was gone. Thanks a ton Jeff at least little Ardun is a cutie for sure, she is lucky that she looks like her mother. I did however get a few pictures. Have I mentioned that I just love Caddy's Putting Caddy lights on a chevy was an old 50's trick and many companies made copy's and sold them as kits. This appears to be one of those kits but he must have thought that the lights were not bright enough so installed these stylish new lights. Everyone should carry an extra cylinder head in the trunk, you never know when you may need one. A couple of shots to give you the general idea of how big this yard is. Many of the cars have been pretty picked over but it's still fun to do the walk through. Even Moriarity who has been there a lot found stuff he hadn't seen before. We assumed that this was for an engine block heater but who knows, it was in a 59 Ford Rag Top. This was a real sanitary conversion, Ugly but nicely done. Sorry for the pics through the fence but I was too lazy to walk all the way around it. A mid 60 Lincoln Convertible with a Turnpike Cruiser Style glass rear window that actually rolls down when the top is up. The rear boot raises up and the window frame folds down and then the top folds on top of it, then the boot comes back down and provides a hard cover for the assembly. Almost like a C1 corvette but not anywhere near as pretty. So that brings us to the end of this epic saga. We stopped to see Titus and Stitch Bitch and little Ardun, She is a real sweetie 3 months old and smiles all of the time. Gonna be a daddy's girl for sure allready been to one swap meet at this young age. Thanks for reading and following along, tune in next year when we take you along on our Alaska trip in the 52 Chebby. BB & Maggie
I live 5 miles north of St Cloud......(don't know who he was). I had a car guy party at my place last night.. you missed a great time. Next time ok?
