I hope someone has a pic of the wine glasses and olives and whatever mounted in the trunk.

I found it kind of funny that a car titled "Posessed" had a wine tasting/picnic set-up built into the trunk.

I also find it kind of interesting that the car right in the middle of the building with the most elaborate display won.

You know I went to the show on Friday with a couple buddies, one of whom is really into the street rod/pro touring look and the other who is into more traditional cars and drag cars like me. So as we all checked out the AMBR contenders, I distincly remember all of us agreeing that this roadster was cheesy as shit. The name was retarded, terrible color choice, lame, generic looking wheels, and just such a lack of originality. What the shit were the judges looking at? This car looks like it could have been built by Boyd in 1995. What exactely is their criteria? There were sooooo many other better cars than this one. This car reminded me of Walmart...generic, safe, cheap looking(yeah I know it probably cost almost 1 mil to build this), and boring. Best part of the show were the old sligshot dragsters they fired up at sunset, and the "greaser alley" area.

 

Seems anymore, that the finish is the main criteria for judges. I remember watching some gnrs coverage a year or two ago on the tube. The judges seemed to be most concerned with finding any "dry" areas in the paint on the underside of the car. Gotta be smooooooth. No visible welds, etc.

 

I was hoping that James Hetfields Auburn would win

 

I thought that one should have won as well, beautiful car. I knew that it wouldn't though based on what they usually pick to win.

If someone has a picture from a slightly different angle the car would look right at home under that O'Reilly banner!

 

I had a feeling, that it would win, when i saw the contenders saturday.

I was talking to my dad and I thought it was going to be that two tone beige kinda '32, and dad thought it was going to be "Posessed". Dad was right again.

(Discaliamer) Neither me or my Father wanted the car we picked to win to actually win. We just picked what we thought would win.

Judgeing the AMBR is POLITICAL, I believe its based on Cost to Build & Who owns it.
