Hey Al, Looks like you made a really good choice with this shop doing the metalwork. From the looks of it, you will be happy the results. Wonderful metal workmanship. Bill
Great workmanship and attention to detail! Keep it up! Thanks for sharing the details of the body "tune up!"
Flop, I would pay to just look over your shoulder while you perform your magic. You never dears to amaze me. Awesome work!
Rick Dore and this "Muscle Guy" Clear Coated a Naked Steel Charger on TV... Maybe you should Clear Cote this one?
something was going on with the door top . and it couldnt stay that way . so after some tig welding and filing we get this and finished off the drivers side door gap was pretty bad so i had to weld to the edge to correct the problem drivers side just about completely finished . still a few door jamb details etc to take care of .
Flop, you are a Metal God! Amazing skill, I'm in awe. Do you host metal working classes for dummies? I'd love to sit in on one.
Flop (conversation?, PM) me your address so I can ship that Model A rear panel we talked about... Thanks Alan
Flop, Your work on the door is great. I need to do the same thing on mine. Still waiting for the chop....chop..
@voodoo Twin no class i just go to work . if you are around stop by . thanks @skatermann ! @383deuce bodys gotta be nice before i even think of a chop .
cool pic my buddy Paul took Lemmy making sure the work checks out . smoothing out the jambs next a beautiful windshield frame from bookville . fit perfect with zero modification besides running the DA across it
AHA! The secret to your great work is out! Lemmy might bite you in the backside if the very highest levels of quality are not maintained. Seriously, great work. Keep it up. I'm sure you are inspiring others while most of us are just envious.
This takes first, a vision for what needs to be done. The skills and experience also. You seem to be at 110% on all this. I have to ask: Could this be Brookville panels assembled by someone else? I ask because how the body looks after you have "worked" it is how I would expect it to come to me, straight from Brookville. Tim
you can only look at the phone so close huh ?! thanks everyone !! cowl before cowl is now 100 percent finished up cant do much with the low spot from the spot welds on the cowl vent though next up details in the A pillars
I thought my body shop bill was large...this customer will need nitro pills when he sees the bill great work bubba
I never saw a raw body from Brookville and had assumed that they would be a hell of a lot better than that. Very surprised to say the least. Is this pretty much the norm for all of them? By the way, your work is tremendous!
I thought you were bound to be talented as hell back when you started thrashing on your Pontiac years ago. Now with only a few years seasoning your craft it's clear that you'll be raising the bar for everyone over and over for years to come. Simply amazing results, and always a treat to watch.
Nobody is getting over your bar for a long long time! I'm totally blown away! BTW, You have the tallent to fill those spot weld depressions with a tig and .060 steel rod and just enough heat to flow the rod. Build it up then just smooth out the spot. I have seen this done with .047 thick crs. This would be if you wanna go bare! Again AMAZING one of a kind!
You can buy a Brookville body one of several ways. The first is assembled by Brookville. The second way is from a qualified assembler like Bobby Walden. The third is as a "kit" that you or your favorite hot rod shop can assemble. The coupe in this thread was obviously put together by someone other than Brookville or Bobby Walden. And they were in over their head when they opened the big box.
